I talked to Ronda today as well.  (See John's post for her status).  She said that Pam Davis had also visited her.  Pam and Dr. Olsen are planning on being at our next support group at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.  That would be next Weds, the 10th at 5:30.  So come on and join us.  Even if I got the information wrong about our visitors, it's a good group of people and we'd love to have you join us.

I'm looking forward to meeting you and Phil.  I'm guess-timating that we have 20-25 people.  I've only been twice.  That needs to change as there are some really fine folk who attend.  It's like a little mini-mix of the TN board...  different surgeries with different docs and really freindly people.  We have run over the ending time both times I was there.  LOL We do help each other and it is also a social gathering.

You are correct! Dr. Olsen and I will be there for a Q&A - any preop, postop, etc. questions. Great time for those who may be considering surgery to come out and get more information too. Looking forward to seeing you next week!

I am a weeeee bit (ok a HUGE bit) behind on the boards and my PM's, so let me apologize, but I knew about Phil and Cheryl coming and it will be exciting to have Pam and Dr. Olsen too.  When Cheryl first mentioned it, she mentioned dinner after.   The closest place I can think to the hospital is Craw Daddy's but I've never ate there.  SO...  if anyone has any ideas on where we might grab a bite, and who all would be able to grab a bite after, please post!!!!

I have to admit to not having all my ducks in the water these last few days!

I thought of that, too.  Well, the eating part.  I'm partial to Puleo's on Interstate Dr.  They have a wide variety of items, some of them offered in smaller portions.  It would also be easy to get to from the hospital then allow our visitors to easily hop back onto I-40 for their trip home.

Do you think we need to get a "head count" and call and make reservations?  I've never been there, but do know where it is and you are right about being close to the interstate!

I forgot to mention that you can preview the menu at Puleo's on-line.  I don't remember if they show the small plate options on line, but they do have them. I'm on my way out for lunch/dinner whatever it's called at 3:30 TN time.  I'll go there and ask about reservations, etc.

The manager said they'd love to have us.  They have two areas that we could use for a larger party.  All he asked was that we call ahead with an approximate head count so they can get the tables ready.  We can ask at the meeting how many  think they'd like to go and then give tthe restauranta call so they can get the tables ready.

While there, I had the turkey dinner.  It was sliced very thin and had just enough gravy to  give it a little extra moisture.  With two sides, it was $9.99.  It'll be good to eat the rest of it later this evening.  I was expecting thicker sliced meat.  This was almost shaved and it was so much better than what Iwas expecting.  We've been there maybe a dozen times and always had the best food and service.
